Petroleum Storage

Storage Shipping Distribution & handling Laboratory Analysis

UNIVERSAL TERMINAL (S) PTE. LTD. manages tank storage operations in Singapore, and our management levies all oil companies the requisite fees for the storage and handling of their products. Our tank farms are primarily located above ground, although some are positioned underground, equipped to facilitate the efficient discharge of products into heavy-duty oil tankers and pipelines. We possess extensive industrial facilities for the storage of oil and petroleum products prior to their formal transportation to end users or subsequent storage facilities.

Our tank farms are strategically positioned to allow ocean liners to discharge their cargo of products. Some of these farms are connected to pipelines to enable the transfer of supplies through railways, barges, or heavy-duty oil tankers. Heavy-duty oil tankers operate from the majority of our tank farms, delivering products to petrol stations or other consumers.

The petroleum products received at our tank farms are obtained from refineries and are ready for customer delivery, thanks to the sophisticated design of our tank farms, which feature a variety of tanks, pipelines, and gantries equipped with a high degree of automation. This marks a considerable advancement in depot operations.
As a fundamental requirement, our tank farm management prioritizes health and safety environments (HSE) at the locations of our tank farms. Our operators are tasked with ensuring the safe handling of products to avert leakages that could potentially damage the soil and aquatic ecosystems.

UNIVERSAL TERMINAL (S) PTE. LTD.'s tank farm makes use of Tank Storage Facilities located in Houston and the Upper Baltic Sea Region at Primorsk Commercial Sea Port. This setup enables the simultaneous loading of multiple vessel tankers with a deadweight of 50,000 to 150,000 tons and a capacity of up to 6,500 tons per hour at Primorsk Port and Ust Luga Port. Additionally, it allows for the loading of multiple vessel tankers with a deadweight ranging from 75,000 to 150,000 tons at Rotterdam port, with capacities of 4,500 and 6,500 tons per hour.

With the increase in global population and GDP, there is a corresponding rise in the world’s demand for energy and chemicals. A geographic imbalance is increasingly apparent between energy and petrochemical production areas and consumption areas. This has resulted in the longer-distance transport of oil, gas, and petrochemicals globally. Concurrently, markets and product flows have been in constant flux due to the implementation of more ambitious climate change policies, geopolitical and economic fluctuations, and the emergence of new energy sources and cleaner fuels. This has led to an increased need for the storage and handling of bulk liquids and gases at strategic points along global maritime trade routes.
